I finished the last part of the baby quilt on Sunday night this week. The backing is an ultra soft micro fleece in white and the batting is a 100% natural cotton batt that was needle felted, so that it will never shift.

I did the actual quilting of the project by machine. More specifically by TREADLE. I used my great grandmothers 1905 Singer treadle machine. I ended up using it out of necessity, since my other machine developed a feed gear issue, but was actually thankful for that issue in the long run. I think doing the quilting on that old treadle really ads a since of history and connection to the whole project.

Yesterday I made a little carry pouch to pack it in and got the quilt washed up and dried. Then today I took some pictures with my phone, since my camera has died.

Here for all to view is my finished project. .... AND in time for the baby shower!

Here is the little carry bag.

I decided to make that to make it easier to haul places and to store after she out grows it.

Thanks all. I think it turned out pretty well. Now I am starting to think about the design for one for Kid. A bug quilt.

Yes I am. There isn't a more noble profession in my book.

When Kid says he wants to be a fireman when he grows up, I always say... "Wonderful! You will make a great fireman. What kinds of animals are you planning on raising on your farm?" I see no reason why he can't be BOTH.

I think little Cali should be even more motivated. After all her father makes his living as a blacksmith her mom was a vet tech and they live in a house surrounded with a bean field on three sides and a field of cattle across the front.

BTW... Abel was hard to embroidery. His is a hard color to match.
