Greetings from Sunny SW Florida!

Unread post by kbhlmh » Thu May 02, 2019 4:22 pm

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum. I am mostly here to read and learn for my future even though I currently live on a postage stamp sized lot in a suburban subdivision. I have a couple of very small gardens where I am growing a few fruits and veggies, no critters, just my Pomeranian |em20| . I live in SW Florida, growing zone 10a. I look forward to getting to know you!|em8|

Hurray! You made it!

I was worried about you tonight. The lamb cam is down from the storm, so I can't live stream tonight like I have been. Still no lambs either!

Hi Farmfresh! I didn't realize who you were when I responded in the gardening thread. I was searching for Thunder! ;-) I've been patiently waiting for lamb cam to live stream tonight. Glad you let me know, I was concerned! What's with all the storms?!?! Don't they know that some of us NEED our lamb cam?!?! Sheesh!! LOL Hope the girls are doing OK. They seem SOOOO uncomfortable!

Hi there!!! Glad to see you made it! |em1|

And believe it or not.....you could even 'homestead' in an apartment. In the past, we've known a few that did....as we said, it's more of a mindset and/or lifestyle.....not the size of land or number of critters.

Yup I live at Thunder Ridge, but they call me Mom, Grandma, Farmfresh or hubby used to call me Heifer as a pet name. LOL.
When I worked at schools everyone called me by my last name. My sister calls me Sissy. No one really calls me my real name, so it is about pointless.

I am glad you made it here. Take your time, look around and then jump in with both feet. You are going to meet some fun folks and learn stuff. We all are constantly learning something from each other. Most of us start a journal where we share about our lives. Journals are only visible by other members. Then we spread out from there to more specific forum threads.

Have fun.

Hi, glad you made it over here! Welcome to the group |em6|

I’m on a 1/5 acre lot in a subdivision in a suburb outside of Chicago, Illinois. I only have my dog Percy (very spoiled beagle/coonhound mix) and my son at home, my husband is in a nursing home.

I have a good size garden, a few fruit trees (2 different apple varieties, a peach, a dwarf cherry and an apricot), cherry bushes plus raspberries and blackberries. I also grow stuff in containers closer to the house.

Welcome from Southern Oregon. I'm about ready to move from my 2.6 acres to a HOA controlled golf course home, but even with that, I'll be growing and canning and stuff.

Welcome to you from NE South Dakota where we get two seasons; 4th of July and winter.
Did I mention that it gets cold up here?
There’s a reason why we plant “80 day” corn here.
Hope you enjoy being with us!
Cheers
