Hey OF. I saw an ad for crown roast of lamb. Yes, it was a rack of ribs, curled into a circle, with white chef hats on the top of each trimmed rib. It was $5.99 a lb. Fancy!!
WHAT????? WHERE?????? Actually I can't buy it now, but that is a great price for lamb. I seen a pork crown roast at Safeway yesterday for about that price. I also checked the price again for a rack of lamb. $12.99lb and I'd have to buy 5 of those and tie them together myself. NOPE, I'm not doing it for that price for such little amount of meat that wouldn't leave any leftovers.
Prime rib roasts were cheaper than that @ $4.88(?) per lb. with the bones (great for broth later

) and a bit higher if boneless. AH, I rarely buy boneless beef anymore. Those bones are welcomed and used for broth, then given to the dogs
I had went to take the ham out of the freezer and decided it probably wasn't big enough, so I bought another one @ .99lb.
Then last night SIL invites us to their place for Prime Rib for Christmas dinner.......I was thinking it was a bit late for holiday invites, but I wont stand in the way of sharing the holidays with family and the chance to get together. I think it's good for both hubs and the boys to have that.......and I miss that myself. For too many years it's only been the 5 of us, ALL the time. So I asked hubs about going and he says we could still have ours but earlier (around noon).......then go to SIL's @ 2pm.
No wonder I'm a blob with sticks
