Does sound good. It's similar to the Spanish rice I make.

Sauté a large onion (thinly sliced into strips) and 2 or 3 bell peppers (whatever colors you fancy, thinly sliced into strips) along with about a pound to a pound and a half of thinly sliced steak (again whatever type you fancy) in a bit of EVOO. Season everything with some season salt and black pepper, add a couple cloves of minced garlic and about a tablespoon of dried Italian seasoning. Stir to combine and let the garlic and herbs give off a bit of their fragrance.

Add a large can of crushed tomatoes and a medium size can of tomato sauce plus a large can of water. Stir to combine, cover and simmer over medium heat until tender and the sauce reduces by about 1/2. If you want you can also add a can of finely diced tomatoes, I add them if I have them on hand. For an Easy peasy quick dinner I serve this over steamed white rice.
