That's just it, you don't have to use hot dogs. I used leftover steak, but pork, chicken, burger or whatever you want. Maybe even skip meat altogether and go with beans & rice for the protein. Though if using rice, I think I'd cook it thoroughly first, then add at the last minute & heat it all thru |em22|

Sounds interesting, I’m not sure about the one with the hotdogs though.

Hoover Stew

Seen this video on YT and thought it looked good..

IIRC the basic recipe is this....

1lb Macaroni
1 pkg hot dogs, sliced thin
1 can corn
1 can cannelli beans
2 cans diced or stewed tomatoes

Boil pasta just a few minutes, but not completely done. Drain but don't rinse. To the same pot add all the ingredients and stir to cook the pasta & heat everything thru.

I had also watched another video of the same recipe, but they had made a few tweeks to suit their tastes.

Then I made it tonight, only with my own tweeks

1lb mini Penne
some leftover steak, diced
2 pts diced tomatoes
1 can black beans
3 (1/2 pt jars) mised veggies (home re-canned corn, peas, carrots)
about 1/4 c. dry spaghetti sauce seasoning (equal to one packet)
1 or 2 tsp worchestershire sauce
salt & pepper

This seems to be a very forgiving recipe so you can use whatever meat, veggie, carb or starch (pasta, rice, potatoes?), seasoning you like or have on hand. Beans optional, but tomatoes of some sort is a given. If you wanted a Mexican flare, use some burger, rice, corn, beans, tomatoes (Ro-Tel?)and taco seasoning. Or Italian kinda like I did, or more American with the hot dogs or even Keilbasa, either pasta or potatoes, etc. Just a few changes and you have something different.
