Hot Shoeing a Draft Horse - Using Stocks

Unread post by Farmfresh » Fri Sep 06, 2019 10:42 pm

Here is something I have only seen a few times. A bit of history that is about gone. Very few farriers hot shoe any more unless they are doing a corrective shoe. Draft horse farriers are specialists.

The stocks are used to hold the foot, just because of the shear size and weight of each leg and foot. Hot shoeing makes a better connection between shoe and hoof and helps seal the hoof from too much or too little moisture.

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
