18th Century Savory Oatmeal Soup

Unread post by patriceinil »

He used a variety of herbs cooked in the water for 5-6 minutes. Removed the herbs and added cracked oat groats to form a runny porridge style soup.

This may be something we will need to remember for in the future when times get extremely tight and we don’t have much in our pantry to get by on.

Soup in general is a great money saver.
And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit. -The Tick ~~ Bible verse Revelation 6:15-17 - look it up!
