Put the ham hocks in water in the crockpot and cook until the meat falls off the bones. Then use the meat/liquid to can your next batch of beans OF.

Yeah I know, that's why I said I wouldn't do it that way again...….and actually probably just stick with ham. Most hocks I find anymore are mostly fat with little meat on them. |em3|

That’s why I use ham too but you don’t get as much smoky flavor from ham. I guess I could add some liquid smoke if I really wanted to.
