The two rose bushes in front of the front window has several rose hips. I've never done anything with hips before, but I know they are good for something. So please inform me......

What do you use them for
How do you use them
What is your method of preparing them

and anything else you can tell me about rose hips.

They're high in vitamin C.

Thanks Patrice... you beat me to it! |em25|

You want to wait for them to ripen to a full red before harvest OF.

I'm getting ready to harvest mine this week. We've had a few light frosts already and most of mine are orange now.

We have had a couple of light frosts, but I think these are protected being next to the house. I do have one that is turning orange, but the rest are still green.
I did save the page of info about Rose Hips. I see too that it says it may help arthritis & joint pain, so that makes me hopeful. I only have about 10-15 hips out there total, but they are big. Either way I should get a few cups of tea from it. |em23|

And if it works you know what you can start watching for on sale (and on the neighbor's rose bushes.)

I looked at mine while I was in the yard. I still have a bunch of green ones but there are a few orange ones. I'll probably start clipping the orange ones tomorrow before the rain moves in.
