Yes Patrice, I tried to search for recipes and they were all about the same as yours and I told hubs about it to see if that's what he meant. He just says he remembers cheese either in the roll or over the top, he wasn't sure which. I told him I couldn't find anything with cheese anywhere. I said maybe it was his Mom's own doing just to get the kids to eat it |em22|

Then just add a bit of whatever kind of cheese he wants over it. I think mozzarella would work well and melt nicely.

Rumbledethumps CLASSIC SCOTTISH ULTIMATE Comfort dish

When I told my husband this recipe he laughed. Evidently "Rumble-De-Tumps" (which is how you say it) was medieval slang for sex.

Ingredients:
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks - boil to make a good mashed potato
- 1 head of cabbage or a bunch of kale, roughly chopped
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1/2 cup milk or cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or any strong, mature cheese of your preference)
Green onions 3 fine chopped

(I would add bacon or ham)

----------------
Cook potatoes to make a mash. Infuse the milk with green onions by heating it. This infused milk is used to make the mashed potatoes.
Dice the onion, cabbage and saute with the butter.
Mix about half of the sauteed cabbage with the mashed potato.
Layer the sauteed cabbage and onion with the now loaded mashed potatoes. Add cheese and meat (if desired) between layers. Repeat. Top with cheese and bacon.

oven to 360°F (180°C) 15 - 20 mins
Air fryer 340°F (170°C) 15 mins

Good for a veggie meal as well... if you leave out the meat.

I have 3 bowling ball size heads of cabbage in my garden.. I’m committed to cabbage rolls for 1. Maybe I’ll try these with another.
