I think it was last year, when I picked up a couple of aloe plants and they are different from each other. The one on the right, is the regular aloe vera with thick leaves full of gel. It's looking pretty bad with the leaves having turned brown and some have died off.....but it also growing new leaf buds. This is atleast the second time the plant has done this (dying off & regrowth). The last time it did this, I pulled the brown leaves and squeezed out the juice into a small jar, but I'm not sure that's a good way of keeping it or not.
The other plant on the left, just keeps growing taller. It's crooked mostly from the cat rubbing against it, but the plant is happy. This one hasn't died off like the other one and the leaves are thin and no gel in them. I think that when I bought it, I thought it was just like the other, but it's not. So I have no idea what to do with it, other than just let it be.
Does anyone have any idea or experience with aloes? Can you or how do you, save & preserve the gel???
